Science colloquium continues on with lecture on attrition and reaction studies

3/12/2009

Dr. Dragomir B. Bukur, the Joe M. Nesbitt Professor of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University will present "Attrition and reaction studies with catalysts for coal-to-liquids conversion." The lecture will focus on results from studies conducted at Texas A&M University on the critical issue of the accumulation of high molecular weight hydrocarbons while using slurry bubble column reactors. Recent developments in coal-to-liquids and gas-to-liquids technologies have been directed towards the use of these reactors to separate catalyst particles from the wax or high molecular weight hydrocarbons. The lecture is scheduled for 12 March, in lecture hall 143, beginning at 12 p.m. A light lunch will be served.
