Professor Mounir Hamdi, head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, will present "Next Generation Optical Internet Opportunities and Challenges." The lecture will focus on the evolution of the internet and it's architecture in terms of equipment, protocols, standards adopted and applications, detaling the prevalent base technologies for this transition and evolution. The lecture is scheduled for 16 March, in lecture hall 238, beginning at 12 p.m. A light lunch will be served.
