Facilities Management

TAMUQ makes its home in Education City's Engineering Building, which was designed specifically for the teaching and research of engineering. Construction began in July of 2005 and the university moved into the new building in Juneof 2007. The TAMUQ Engineering Building was designed by world famous architect Ricardo Legorreta of Mexico, who used simple geometric forms to give identity to specific elements of the building. The complex, which sits on five acres of land, is comprised of two elements; a three story "X" shaped research building and a four story academic quadrangle, which are connected by a multi-story atrium space. Within 565,100 sq ft of enclosed floor, the building features underground parking area, lecture halls, classrooms, laboratories, administration, staff and support offices, and general use areas.
