A New Incoming Student
Orientation marks the beginning of your lifetime adventure as an Aggie. All new students will come together on 3-5 September 2011 to kick-off your Texas A&M University experience. Orientation is designed to help you meet your classmates and professors, get acquainted with the resources and opportunities at Texas A&M at Qatar, as well as learn what it means to be an Aggie.
Full participation in all three days of Aggie Orientation is mandatory in order to enroll at Texas A&M Qatar for the fall semester. More information about the schedule and activities of orientation will become available throughout the summer. For information or questions, email a member of the Aggie Orientation team AggieOrientation@qatar.tamu.edu.
All new students are required to attend a one-day New Student Conference prior to the start of Orientation to meet with academic advisors and register for classes. If you have not done so already, please take a few minutes to submit your preferred conference date online before Monday, 20 June.
We will do our best to assign dates according to your preferences, but we cannot guarantee you a seat in your first choice conference date. Your assigned New Student Conference date will be communicated to you via email in mid-June. Please read your email carefully and mark your assigned date on your calendar. Attendance at both your assigned New Student Conference and Aggie Orientation are mandatory for enrollment at Texas A&M University at Qatar. If you have any questions, email AggieOrientation@qatar.tamu.edu. Members of the Aggie Orientation team will respond to your questions as soon as they are able.
Note, Aggie Gateway Program and International Students will be assigned a New Student Conference date separately. Please watch your email for information about these dates.
Those students who will be Qatar Foundation-sponsored international students or who live more than 20km from Education City are eligible to live in Qatar Foundation residence halls. Living on campus is a great way to get to know fellow students, engage in student life, and get the most from your University experience. If you wish to live on campus and have not already informed Texas A&M at Qatar, please submit your information online as soon as possible. Housing is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
