Texas A&M at Qatar won the Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) soccer tournament and finished second in the league. Marwan Badreldin was named best goalie as well as to the all-star team. Tarek Saad and Ahmed Kaikal were also named to the league-wide all-star team.

Electrical and computer engineering junior Shaikha Al-Qahtani was recently selected by the Texas A&M University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi as its Outstanding Junior award recipient. Al-Qahtani was awarded and inducted into the prestigious honor society at a ceremony in College Station. Phi Kappa Phi is the oldest honor society in the United States.
