Dr. Troy Bickham, associate professor of history, Ray A. Rothrock ’77 fellow and program chair for liberal arts, recently released a book titled “The Weight of Vengeance: The United States, The British Empire and the War of 1812.”

Published by Oxford University Press, the book was released on the 200th anniversary of the outbreak of the War of 1812. Bickham has also published titles such as “Making Headlines: The American Revolution as seen Through the British Press” and “Savages within the Empire.” The book’s release follows Bickham’s 2012 Fallon-Marshall Lecture on 26 April at Texas A&M University in which he offered a fresh analysis of the War of 1812 from a global perspective.
