Neenu Shaji joined the TAMUQ Science Program in 2009. She currently teaches Calculus Recitations and Python Coding Labs. She is actively involved in outreach programs. She worked as instructor for the ACT (American College Test) coaching hosted as a joint venture, PSP (Promising Students Program) between HBKU (Hamad Bin Khalifa University) and Texas A&M University at Qatar. She worked as Assistant Instructor to Dr. Sandra Nite as a part of the outreach program, PREP (Pathways for Retention in Engineering Programs), hosted by the Office of Development, Engagement and Outreach (currently Office of Advancement) for two consecutive years. In this regard, she was actively involved in teaching the high school students precalculus as well as MATLAB. She developed a course for MATLAB for Precalculus and taught it to high-school students as part of PREP.
My passion:
To perceive excellence in the field of teaching, through continuous research, learning and sheer hard work to face new challenges in the near future for me and for my organization and thus to achieve goals through my endeavors. I am passionate about active learning environment where the instructor coaches the student by bridging gaps and guiding them towards the learning outcomes by eliciting them to connect concepts together and thereby providing a life-long learning experience to the students. Teaching and learning is a progressive space where in both parties should be willing to learn and unlearn in order to provide a dynamic learning and teaching experience.
