Research

Dr. Reginald Kogbara is an Assistant Research Scientist at Texas A&M University at Qatar. He holds a PhD in Engineering (Geotechnical & Environmental) from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Agricultural & Environmental Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Nigeria. He has several refereed publications in the following research areas:

• Civil engineering materials: Concrete for severe environments and durability of concrete structures – mechanical and thermal behavior of concrete at cryogenic temperatures for LNG storage; characterization and microstructural analyses of materials (scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction and x-ray fluorescence); non-destructive evaluation (acoustic emission, nuclear magnetic resonance and x-ray computed tomography); and skid resistance of asphalt pavements.
• Geo-environmental engineering: Stabilization/solidification of hazardous wastes and contaminated soils using different cementitious materials, and other treatment technologies; and beneficial reuse of industrial wastes and materials as resources.

Dr. Lakshmi Roja is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ). She obtained her PhD in Pavement Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. She holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and a Master degree in Transportation Engineering from JNTU College of Engineering Hyderabad, India. Dr. Lakshmi joined in TAMUQ in 2018 and the focus of her research is characterization of asphalt binders and mixtures:

• Development of mix design for asphalt mixtures containing reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) material
• Nano, micro and macro level studies on asphalt binders
• Mechanical characterization of asphalt mixtures
• Pavement design
• Mechanistic analysis and the evaluation of pavement distresses

Dr. Wubulikasimu Yiming is an Assistant manager of the Central Materials Facility at Texas A&M University at Qatar. He holds a PhD in Earth Science (Crystallography & Materials Science) and Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Camerino, Italy.   He has a  Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Physics from the Beijing Normal University, China. His Ph.D research focused on crystal structure of cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. Since he joined Texas A&M University at Qatar, he has been in charge of the Central Materials Facility, a core materials characterization lab that specialized in imaging, phase and elemental characterization, and micro/macro structure characterizations of various materials. He has been involved in research projects such as Photovoltaics Soiling - Field Measurement, Modeling and Mitigation, Design, fabrication and characterization of water treatment membranes with mechanical stability and durability and TAMUQ-Shell joint research project of application of bio-sludge as soil enhancer in Qatar.
