Talented teachers, small class sizes, state-of-the-art facilities, and excellent students make our campus an ideal venue for pursuing innovation and excellence in engineering education. Located in a dedicated suite inside the Texas A&M at Qatar building, The Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) is a new, collaborative effort founded in Spring 2017 designed to support and enhance learning at our campus. It has three branches.
The first is the Academic Success Collaborative (ASC), which provides learning support for all of our students through peer tutoring, professional writing and digital composing consultations, and programs such as ‘Study Smart, Stress Less’ and ‘One Book, One Community.’ The ASC provides a comfortable atmosphere for students to collaborate and create.
The second branch of the CTL is the new Initiative in Teaching Innovation and Excellence (iTIE). iTIE supports teaching excellence in a variety of ways: through instructional consulting, writing-across-the-curriculum support and professional development workshops provided by a combination of our own faculty and staff experts, as well as external leaders in education.
The third branch of the CTL is the Engineering Enrichment Program (EEP). The EEP provides additional engineering skills to our students through short courses, certifications and professional skills training. It has substantially enhanced hundreds of our students’ educational experiences and better prepared them as professional engineers.
