Bashir chairs conference on globalization
Published Jan 15, 2013Dr. Hassan Bashir, assistant professor of political science, is the organizing chair for the 5th Global Conference "Strangers, Aliens and Foreigners." The conference will be hosted at Mansfield College, Oxford University, United Kingdom from 5–7 Sept. 2013. The conference will explore the crucial place that strangers, aliens and foreigners have for the constitution of self, communities and societies. In particular, it will assess world transformations, like phenomena associated with the 'globalization' new forms of migration and the massive movements of people across the globe, as well as the impact they have on the conceptions we hold of self and other.
