Continuing Education offers explosion hazards course
Published Oct 24, 2012Texas A&M at Qatar will host a continuing education course titled "Gas Explosion Hazards for LNG facilities" on 7-8 November. The course will be conducted by Dr. Filippo Gavelli, Head of the Dispersion Consulting group at GexCon US, and Dr. Scott Davis, President and Principal Engineer at GexCon US, and will provide an overview of all aspects of explosion hazards: ignition processes, release and dispersion, explosion mechanisms, blast loads and state-of-the art modeling of all these aspects. On day two, a visit and tour of the Process Safety Laboratory at Texas A&M University at Qatar is planned and will include a live dust explosion.
