Former astronaut visits University

Mr. Duane Carey, retired Air Force Lt. Col. and former astronaut, visited Texas A&M at Qatar to present his talk on a mission to the Hubble Space Telescope on 7 Feb.

Carey served over 22 years in the US Air Force and piloted the space shuttle Columbia on mission STS-109, a servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope. He and his wife are currently working to educate young people about the importance of America’s exploration and research programs and encouraging them to pursue education and careers in math, science and other technical fields.
