MKOPSC-Qatar conducts first short course
Published Nov 19, 2013The Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center-Qatar at Texas A&M University at Qatar conducted a continuing education course titled “Laboratory Safety” for lab technicians and lab engineers from Qatar Petroleum on 13 Nov. The course provided an overview of the most common hazards and risks associated to the work in chemical engineering. A laboratory visit was scheduled at the end of the session. The course was offered by Dr. Luc Véchot, assistant professor chemical engineering, and Dr. Tomasz Olweski, associate research scientist, Raven Landry, safety coordinator in HSSE, David Onchagwa, assistant manager of HSSE and Khaled Elsaid, laboratory manager.
