Professionals learn basics of risk assessments
Published Mar 20, 2012Texas A&M at Qatar hosted a continuing education course titled "Principles and Practices of Risk Assessment" from 11-12 March.
The course, conducted by Dr. Luc Vechot, assistant professor of chemical engineering, and Dr. Simon Waldram, managing director of Waldram Consultants Ltd., was specially designed for those starting a career in process safety management. It provided an overview of some of the most common process hazards and hazard identification techniques with particular attention given to the principle features of effective quantitative risk assessment.
