SOC volunteers at QAWS
Published Oct 23, 2011The Social Outreach Club (SOC) visited the Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS), a non-profit local animal shelter, on 22 Oct.
Nine student volunteers assisted in caring for the shelter's many dogs and cats. "QAWS is still trying to gain the status of a recognized organization, so it relies heavily on voluntary public assistance," said Arshita Surbhi, petroleum engineering student and member of the SOC. "We enjoyed spending time with the animals and giving to the local community in this unique way."
