Students present at political science annual meeting

Seven students from Texas A&M at Qatar presented at the Midwest Political Science Association’s 71st annual meeting in Chicago from 11-14 April. Alya Al Harthy, Syed Muhammad Taha, Muhammad Anas, Roza Espandeary, Akanksha Menon, Mohammed Ziyan Sheriff and Fatima Raja presented their work in the undergraduate poster sessions. The posters focused on a diverse range of issues which included effects of drone strikes in Pakistan, post civil war reconstruction in Sri Lanka, Leadership and governance in Malaysia and Singapore, parallel education systems and governance in South Asia, the political economy of labor in Bahrain and human rights, corruption and governance and Arab women's participation in the blogosphere in Middle Eastern countries. Student research was supervised by Dr. Hassan Bashir, assistant professor of political science, and Dr. Phillip W. Gray, visiting assistant professor of political science.
