Tau Beta Pi chapter recognized internationally
Published Jan 26, 2012The Texas A&M at Qatar chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, was featured in "The Bent," Tau Beta Pi's quarterly magazine. Twenty members were initiated to the society in its inaugural initiation ceremony in Qatar in April 2011. Dr. Larry A. Simonson, president of Tau Beta Pi, also recognized the chapter for being the society's first international chapter in his address to the annual Tau Beta Pi Convention on 29 Oct. 2011. Anas Al Bastami, president of the Texas A&M at Qatar chapter, said, “We were very excited to be recognized by the president of Tau Beta Pi in his speech. Everyone at the convention was eager to meet us as the first international members.”
