VDC winner announced

Texas A&M at Qatar recently hosted the fifth annual Visualization Development Competition (VDC) and first 3D printing competition. Organized by the research computing group, the VDC is designed to raise awareness about the powerful 3D Immersive Visualization Facility's (IVF) capabilities for the research and academic communities. Winner of the 2013 VDC is Vamsi Vegamoor, mechanical engineering student, and Yasser Al-Hamidi, mechanical engineering laboratory manager, for their work on "How Visualization Can Aid in Teaching Robotics." First place for the 3D printing was awarded to Mohammad El-Gammal for his project, "Wheel Chair Power Bar." Second place was awarded to Mohammad Hossein Ghamary and Mohammad Hassan Khorasani for their project "Engine Cross-Section Design."
