Texas A&M at Qatar co-hosts PV workshop

Texas A&M at Qatar co-hosted a desert PV module workshop recently at the HBKU Student Center that brought researchers from across the world, including the U.S., Germany and Turkey to present studies related to the problems facing solar photovoltaic power generation in harsh desert conditions. Researchers from the mechanical and electrical and computer engineering programs at Texas A&M at Qatar also presented research findings. The workshop addressed the important thematic area of renewable energy, which has been a focus of Qatar's national research and development strategy plan. In addition to Texas A&M at Qatar, the workshop was sponsored by Qatar National Research Fund and Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute.
