Postdoctoral research associate accepts faculty position at University of Sonora

Postdoctoral research associate Dr. Alfredo Castañeda recently accepted a faculty position as an associate professor at the University of Sonora in Mexico. In addition to teaching and research duties, Castañeda will create a new high-energy physics group at the Institute of Research in Physics at the University of Sonora. Castañeda has been at Texas A&M at Qatar since 2013 as a postdoctoral research associate under Dr. Othmane Bouhali where he actively contributed to the physics data analysis from the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. He also led the international group on background simulation and contributed to the CMS upgrade project.
