Texas A&M at Qatar's student chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) hosted its annual Mega Quiz 28 Sept. in the student lounge. Students from all engineering disciplines participated in the highly interactive event that tested Aggie engineers' general knowledge about the oil and gas industry through trivia.

Dr. Nimir Elbashir, director of the TEES Gas and Fuels Research Center and professor in chemical engineering and petroleum engineering, was interviewed on Qatar TV talking about graduate studies and research endeavors at Texas A&M at Qatar. Dr. Ann Kenimer, professor and associate provost for undergraduate studies at Texas A&M, gave a workshop, "Quick, Low-tech Strategies for Motivating Students," for faculty and teaching staff at the branch campus. The interactive workshop involved discussing simple techniques to engage students. The workshop was hosted by the Initiative for Teaching Excellence and Innovation.
