SPE and Pi Epsilon Tau host first fall mixer for freshmen and sophomores

Texas A&M at Qatar's Society of Petroleum Engineers' student chapter hosted an outdoor fall mixer in collaboration with Pi Epsilon Tau, the petroleum engineering honor society. Freshman and sophomore students of all majors learned about several technical disciplines the petroleum has to offer and discussed opportunities to expand the scope of their academic programs.

Mir is first Qatar-based mathematician published in top-five journal

Dr. Nordine Mir, professor of mathematics in the Science Program, published a paper, "Convergence of formal CR mappings into strongly pseudoconvex Cauchy–Riemann manifolds," in Inventiones mathematicae, one of the most prestigious mathematics journals in the world. This marks the first time that a Qatar-based mathematician has ever been published in the acknowledged top-five worldwide math journals.
