New Research Development Council formed
Published Jan 24, 2018A new council has been formed to address the needs of Texas A&M at Qatar researchers and facilitate communication on their behalf. The six interim members represent each academic program: Dr. Ilaria Menapace (MEEN),Chair; Dr. Kim Galindo (Liberal Arts), Vice Chair; Dr. Grigorios Matenoglou (PETE), Secretary; Dr. Shady Khalil (ECEN); Dr. Dong Suk Han (CHEN); and Dr. Maciej Barlog (Science). The council will provide research staff a process for raising, discussing, recommending and following up with the Principal Investigators Council (PIC) and research leadership on current policy and procedures. The council has collected data about the current research climate and is working to promote researchers’ interests and professional growth opportunities at the branch campus. This council will also assume the duties of the outgoing Researcher Development Program Taskforce, including awarding Research Excellence Travel Grants.
