Texas A&M at Qatar student achievements recognized
Published Apr 25, 2018Texas A&M at Qatar recently hosted its annual Student Affairs Leadership and Student Achievements (SALSA) awards at the Doha Marriott Hotel. The event showcased Aggie engineers’ accomplishments both in and outside of the classroom, reflecting the branch campus’s commitment to producing engineering leaders in Qatar and its holistic approach in educating the whole student. The big winner on the night was the Qatari Student Association (QSA), which was named the best student organization of the year as well as for hosting the best student event of the year, Mal Lawal. The club aims to represent Qatari culture and traditions and prepare its members for leadership roles in Qatari society. Development, Engagement and Outreach Manager Jowaher Al-Marri was also named adviser of the year for her role in mentoring QSA.
