Abi Akl presents paper on PET scans at international conference

Technical laboratory coordinator Maya Abi Akl presented her research abstract, “Monte Carlo Studies of a Compact Total Body PET Scanner Design with Monolithic Scintillators,” at the Total Body PET International Conference earlier this month in Ghent, Belgium. Abi Akl's research is a collaboration involving research professor Dr. Othmane Bouhali and Dr. Stefaan Vandenberghe from Ghent University.

Ameen presents research at photovoltaics conference

Rawdha Ameen, Class of 2017, presented research on photovoltaic curve tracing at the International Conference on Photovoltaic Science and Technologies in Ankara, Turkey, earlier this month. Ameen's research began while she was still an undergraduate student working on Dr. Robert Balog's NPRP Cycle 7 project. Ameen is currently a temporary research assistant in Balog's lab.

Research computing group gives presentation at supercomputing conference

Dr. Othmane Bouhali, director of research computing and research professor, and systems administrator IV Faisal Chaudhry attended the International Supercomputing Conference in June in Frankfurt, Germany. Bouhali also delivered a talk, "The Status of High-performance Computing in Qatar," highlighting Texas A&M at Qatar's leading role in the country since 2008.
