Ruimi co-writes entry in the Encyclopedia of Continuum Mechanics
Published Feb 27, 2019Dr. Annie Ruimi, associate professor in the Mechanical Engineering Program, has co-written an entry on the 19th century French elastician Adhémar-Jean-Claude Barré de Saint-Venant in the 2019 edition of the Encyclopedia of Continuum Mechanics published by Springer. Saint-Venant made fundamental contributions to mechanics, most notably to linear elasticity, but also to fluid mechanics and plasticity. He is also known for his work on torsion and flexure of beams.
