Masad and Elbashir represent Texas A&M and TEES at MoU signing in Malaysia

Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) established a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) on 4 March 2019 at the UTP campus in Perak, Malaysia. The areas of collaboration were identified based on a previous visit of UTP leadership to Texas A&M at Qatar in September 2018. The MoU aimed at establishing collaborations in areas of research, teaching and student exchanges. The delegation from Texas A&M and TEES consisted of Dr. Jeff Spath (chair of the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering), Dr. Nimir Elbashir (Chair of the Petroleum Engineering Program at Texas A&M at Qatar and the director of TEES Gas & Fuels Research Center) and Dr. Eyad Masad, executive director for global partnerships at TEES .

UTP is a wholly owned subsidiary of PETRONAS, the national oil company of Malaysia. UTP places strong emphasis on research and development as it emerges as an internationally renowned Research University and specifically in the areas of energy (oil and gas) and infrastructure systems.
