The Petroleum Engineering Program recently hosted its newly admitted students of the Class of 2023 and their parents to Texas A&M University for an orientation session about the program and a lunch with the faculty and staff.
Dr. Nimir Elbashir, program chair, congratulated the students and their parents for being admitted to the university and highlighted the unique opportunities for students during their studies as petroleum engineering undergraduates at Texas A&M at Qatar.
During the event, the students learned about the advanced teaching tools in the program, including a virtual reality system demo with Dr. Thomas Seers, the reservoir geophysics and modeling 3D demo and the drilling simulation lab demo. In addition, two petroleum engineering graduates, Albert Moukhametov and Haya Al-Borshaid, and current sophomore Sara Albanna shared their experiences with the incoming students and their parents, and highlighted the great opportunities available to them as members of the Texas A&M at Qatar Class of 2023.
