The Texas A&M at Qatar chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society organized a field trip to Microsoft on 17 Oct. Twenty students visited the Microsoft facility at Qatar Science and Technology Park. Engineers from Microsoft demonstrated various cognitive service that are being developed, such as, medical emergency bots, AI facial and emotion recognition, technologies used by companies like Al-Jazeera for crowdsourcing, and other innovations in artificial intelligence. Students learned about the day-to-day life of engineers in the real world and practices that can reduce the gap between classrooms and the real world.
