Rahman selected a regional champion of SPE section

The 2020 leadership team of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Flow Assurance Technical Section has been announced and Dr. Aziz Rahman, assistant professor in the Petroleum Engineering Program, has been selected as a regional champion for the Qatar section.
"We previously had only a Saudi Arabia FTS section in the Middle East region," Rahman said. "This is a great achievement since we are now able to bring a new SPE FTS section to Qatar."
The leadership team serves the flow assurance International community. In this new role, Rahman will start more activities beginning in 2020. He said he envisions having a invited speaker initiative, a specialized workshop for industry professionals and other activities. A new local committee has been partially formed under Rahman's leadership and a new multidisciplinary student chapter will soon be formed.
Texas A&M at Qatar hosted the first committee meeting in December, with members of local industry and experts from academia comprising the committee.
