Ph.D. student recognized for teaching

Shaik Afzal, a Ph.D. student advised by Dr. Nimir Elbashir, has received the Graduate Teaching Fellow Award from the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University’s main campus in College Station. The award recognized Afzal’s contributions to the undergraduate teaching mission of the chemical engineering department. Afzal earned a master's degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M at Qatar and then moved to the College Station campus to pursue his doctoral studies but conducted his doctoral research at Texas A&M at Qatar. He will defend his Ph.D. dissertation in the coming months.
