IEEE and Eta Kappa Nu Members visit GE Smart Grid Lab

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) student chapter and the Eta Kappa Nu Honors Society organized a field trip to GE Advanced Research and Technology Center earlier this semester. Fifteen students visited the GE facility at Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). The GE engineers offered insights on grid architecture, grid automation, telecommunication, energy management systems and distribution systems. Students also interacted with GE engineering, telecom, software, and project management professionals for perspectives from the field.
