Research team receives Best Paper Award at IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Systems

Professor Erchin Serpedin from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Program and his collaborators Dr. Muhammad Ismail, formerly assistant research scientist at Texas A&M at Qatar and now assistant professor at Tennessee Tech University, and visiting Ph.D. student Zi-Yang Wu received the Best Paper Award at the 10th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Systems (IS'20) held 28-30 Aug. for their paper, “Data-Driven Smart Handover in Mobile RF/Optical HetNets.”

The IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Systems is a forum that has been organized every two years since 2002 with the aim to gather specialists from the broad area of intelligent systems to share ideas and achievements in the theory and practice of intelligent systems, artificial intelligence, decision support systems, neural networks, soft computing, data mining and knowledge discovery, ontologies, and machine learning.
