Fadlelmula recognized for teaching excellence

Dr. Mohamed Fadlelmula, instructional assistant professor in the Petroleum Engineering Program, has received the College-Level Distinguished Achievement Award for Teaching from the Texas A&M University Association of Former Students. Fadlelmula joined the petroleum engineering faculty in 2016 and has become a pillar in the department since then. Nominators said that the quality of his teaching, along with his work ethic and dedication, are widely acknowledged by both his colleagues and by the students who enjoy his classes. Students describe him as a human encyclopedia who demonstrates both strong technical expertise within his discipline, and superior competency in teaching theoretical and applied concepts that are both essential and relevant to the scope of the degree’s program. Fadlelmula obtained his bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. in petroleum and natural gas engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey. His research focuses on reservoir characterization, geostatistics, uncertainty analysis, reliability-based modeling and rock mechanics.
