Joint Advisory Board Chairman H.E. Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada honored with Japan's Order of the Rising Sun

TAMUQ-HE-Dr-Al-SadaJapan has announced that it has awarded H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Former Minister of Energy and Industry, with the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun," which is the highest decoration conferred by the Japanese government to non-Japanese nationals.

H.E. Dr. Al Sada, Chairman of the Joint Advisory Board at Texas A&M University at Qatar, will be recognized during an honoring ceremony on 11 Nov. at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

Through its official statement, the Japanese government indicated that H.E. Dr. Al Sada has played a significant role for many years in strengthening the relation between Japan and Qatar, especially during his tenure as the Chair of the Qatar-Japan Joint Economic Committee for nine years, and contributed to the stable supply of energy resources to Japan between 2011 and 2018.

H.E. Dr. Al Sada expressed his utmost gratitude and appreciation to the Government of Japan for this honor and stressed that this award is an honor to the State of Qatar before being a tribute to himself.

His Excellency affirmed that the close and long-lasting relations between the State of Qatar and Japan are the result of the insightful vision and wise policies of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and the well-established foundations that were laid by His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, based on mutual respect and cooperation with friendly countries at political, economic and social levels.

Moreover, H.E. Dr. Al Sada praised the distinguished economic relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the field of energy, which greatly contributed to consolidating relations in all other fields.
