Japanese emperor awards Former Minister of Energy and Industry H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada Japan's Order of the Rising Sun

TAMUQ-Al-Sada-JapanHis Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan awarded H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Former Minister of Energy and Industry and Former Chair of the Qatar-Japan Joint Economic Committee, with the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, which is the highest decoration conferred by the Japanese government.

H.E. Dr. Al Sada is Chairman of Texas A&M University at Qatar’s Joint Advisory Board.

The official honoring ceremony, which was held at the imperial palace in Tokyo, was attended by H.E. Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and a number of ministers and top officials from Japan. His Majesty Emperor Naruhito awarded H.E. Dr. Al Sada the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” for his efforts in developing and promoting friendship and cooperation between Qatar and Japan, contributing to the stable supply of oil and gas to Japan, and leading the annual ministry-level meetings of the Qatar-Japan Joint Economic Committee for nine years, in addition to his great contributions to the success of the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference, which is organized and hosted by Japan.

H.E. Dr. Al Sada expressed his utmost gratitude and appreciation to the Government of Japan for this honor. H.E. Al Sada stressed that this award is an honor to the State of Qatar before being a tribute to himself.  

His Excellency affirmed that the close relations between the State of Qatar and Japan are the result of the insightful vision and wise policies of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and the well-established foundations that had been laid by His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, based on mutual respect and cooperation with friendly countries at political, economic and social levels.

Moreover, H.E. Dr. Al Sada praised the distinguished economic relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the field of energy, which greatly contributed to consolidating relations in all other fields.

The ceremony was also attended by H.E. Hassan bin Mohammed Rafei Al-Emadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan.
