Qatar chapter of American Chemical Society recognized for international activities

The Qatar chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) has received the Global Engagement Award during the annual ACS ChemLuminary Awards Ceremony for its international efforts and activities. The Qatar chapter was established in 2018 when it joined 19 other international chapters around the world. The chapter aims to provide chemists and chemical engineers from across Qatar and the region the opportunity to connect with one another, as well as ACS members worldwide. Chapter co-chairs Dr. Hassan S. Bazzi, associate dean for research and advancement and a chemistry professor at Qatar Foundation partner Texas A&M University at Qatar, and Dr. Siham Al-Qaradawi, professor of organic chemistry at Qatar University, thanked chapter members and the executive committee for helping to make the chapter such a success. The world’s largest scientific society, ACS’s vision is to improve people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.
