Education City students host virtual Palestinian Night

Texas A&M University at Qatar’s student organization, the Palestinian Cultural Club, recently collaborated with its sister student organizations — Students for Justice in Palestine from Georgetown University in Qatar and the Palestinian Student Club from Northwestern University in Qatar — to host the second Palestinian Night on 28 Feb.

The virtual event showcased different aspects of Palestinian culture, heritage and history to the Education City community. Palestinian Night included a variety of performances from poetry reading by Bayan Khaled to a presentation about the Palestinian struggle by Mohammed Abu Hawash, writer and aspiring social scientist. Amer Zahr, a Palestinian-American comedian also performed during the event alongside two Palestinian singers, Noel Kharman and Lina Sleibi. The evening concluded with impromptu performances by audience members.

The online event attracted more than 100 people who came together to celebrate Palestinian culture, artists, singers and other performers.
