Texas A&M University at Qatar’s Aggie Desi Club organized its first virtual event to welcome the Class of 2024 to the Desi community at Texas A&M at Qatar.

Former students and founding members of ADC, Sofian Ghazali ’20 and Mohammed Yousuf Qureshi ’20, introduced the new students to the purpose of the organization: creating a community for South Asian students at Texas A&M at Qatar.

Speaking at the event, Ghazali said, “Amidst the tough days of the busy semester, back during the in-person class days, ADC’s events helped me take a break and enjoy the gathering with our members along with some good food and music.”

Freshmen were then invited to introduce themselves and share their interest in joining the organization. The event also hosted various competitions such as a Kahoot game about South Asian cultures and traditions, and a pani puri eating competition.
