Electrical and Computer Engineering Program names winners of capstone design projects

Seniors in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Program recently presented their capstone design projects to a virtual panel of external examiners from inside and outside Qatar.

The project, “Detecting Tissue Heterogeneity Using Artificial Intelligence,” by Nadin Mohamed Abdelghani Mohamed, Mohamed Zeid and Jude AlOudeh won first place in both the presentation and demo video categories. Dr. Othmane Bouhali was the project mentor.

Second place in both the presentation and demo video categories went to the project, “Cyber-Physical Defense in Smart Distribution Networks.” Project team consisted of Leen Al Homoud, Safin Bayes and Rinith Reghunath, and was mentored by Dr. Robert S. Balog.

Third place in the presentation category went to Aisha Al-Obaidli, Anojoud Al-Hammadi and AlReem Al-Hajri for their project, “Contact Alarm & Tracing (CAT).” Faculty mentor was Dr. Hussein Alnuweiri.

In the demo video category, the project, “Accident Prevention Smart Goggles,” won third place. The team consisted of Noora Al-Sulaiti, Badour Al-Badr and Jawaher Kaldari, and was mentored by Dr. Hazem Nounou.

Each project was evaluated by at least three evaluators. Projects were ranked based on the feedback received from the evaluators.
