Texas A&M University at Qatar's Center for Teaching and Learning organized two workshops led by Dr. Samantha Shields, instructional consultant at the main campus in College Station, during her visit to Doha recently.

Her workshop “Incubating Multiversity Ideas: Thinking Interdisciplinarity” was a very timely and significant discussion that covered the collaborative teaching and learning experiences of students and faculty in Education City. In the workshop participants engaged in a collaborative discussion about interdisciplinary programs that can be offered to students and faculty that would qualify under the concept and precepts of multiversity.

Dr. Shields also led a workshop titled “Rethinking Student Participation: What is engagement? What does it look like?”. This was an interactive session where attendees explored the idea of student engagement and participation, and identified ways to incorporate engagement strategies into their existing courses. In addition to the workshops, Dr. Shields also did a "Lunch ‘n Learn" event for faculty and staff, and conducted individual consultations for faculty and teaching staff at Texas A&M Qatar.
