Texas A&M at Qatar student Abdulla Babikr represents Qatar at the 19th Asian Games

Abdulla Babikr, a chemical engineering junior at Texas A&M University at Qatar, represented the State of Qatar in the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China. He showcased exceptional skill and determination while participating in the Karate competitions, specifically Kumite -84 kg category.
The 19th Asian Games gathered athletes from across Asia to showcase their talent and unity through sports.
Babikr expressed immense pride in being a part of this prestigious event.
“It was an incredible experience to represent Qatar at the second-largest sporting event in the world after the Olympics,” he said.
He added that being an Aggie engineer helped him learn key skills such as time management and the discipline to multitask.
“As a student-athlete, I want to follow my dreams both in the sporting arena as well as becoming a successful chemical engineer, and Texas A&M at Qatar offers me opportunities to do both.”
