Texas A&M at Qatar Students Shine at HiEd Entrepreneurship & Innovation Summit
Published Dec 02, 2024Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) students showcased their entrepreneurial spirit and innovative ideas at the HiEd Entrepreneurship & Innovation Summit, securing second and third place in the Qatar Foundation (QF) Student’s Pitch Challenge for Technology-Based Ideas.
The second-place team—Khalifa Al Baker, Fayez Al Fakih, Andrew Starky, Awab Ahmed, Alaa Al Fakih, and Jad Gharzeddine—earned recognition for their innovative project, Spotter AI. This cutting-edge digital coach personalizes workouts by analyzing users' bodies and fitness needs, offering a tailored approach to fitness and well-being.
The third-place team—Mohamed Rayan Barhdadi, Osama Hasoneh, Abdul Qadeer, Nahin Kabir, and Aiman Ali—created Boonue, an innovative app that connects users with trainers for any sport, making personal training more accessible to a wider audience.
TAMUQ teams represented four of the six finalists in the competition, highlighting the exceptional creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurial drive within the university’s student community. These achievements underscore the university’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders in entrepreneurship and innovation.
Additionally, Tanisha Gnanasekaran, a TAMUQ student, represented the university in a panel discussion on student leadership and the vital role of student organizations in fostering personal and professional growth.
