Aggies make an impact through service learning experience in College Station
Published Dec 17, 2024Twenty-six students from Texas A&M University at Qatar made a meaningful impact during their Aggie Service Learning Experience (ASLE) visit to the flagship campus in College Station, Texas.
In line with the Aggie core value of Selfless Service, the students volunteered with 12th Can and the Brazos Valley Food Bank to combat food insecurity. Their efforts included sorting, cleaning, packing, and distributing food to those in need, helping support the local community.
The trip also featured a tour of the College Station campus, a meet-and-greet with Yell Leaders, and a fun encounter with Reveille, the official mascot of Texas A&M University.
Beyond the service work, the experience was an opportunity for personal growth. The students not only contributed to addressing food insecurity but also had the chance to reflect on the importance of service, community, and the values of Texas A&M.
