TAMUQ student teams shine at I AM QF with innovative solutions
Published Feb 05, 2025Two student teams from Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) were selected among numerous projects across Education City to showcase their groundbreaking innovations at I AM QF, a platform dedicated to fostering connections, collaboration, and learning within the Qatar Foundation (QF) community.
Winners of the Qatar leg of Invent for the Planet 2024, Team AquaVision presented their Bycatch Deterrent Submersible, an advanced SONAR-based remotely operated vehicle (ROV) designed to detect, classify, and prevent bycatch during fishing operations. Their cutting-edge solution has the potential to revolutionize sustainable fishing practices. The team comprises Anurag Srivastava, Aiman Mohammed Ali, Elyas Al Amri, Mohamed Bakri, Nahin Kabir, and Osamah Hasoneh.
Team TPC showcased their impactful Effective Humanitarian Engineering Solutions Workshop, which addresses critical global challenges such as education, health, water and sanitation, and human rights. Through their initiative, the team fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration within the diverse student community of Education City.
Team TPC includes Tasnim Ahsan, Ahmed Mohamed Nabeeh, Ameena Fatima, Nahin Kabir, Osama Hasoneh, Rayan Barhdadi, Shams Ali, Ibtisam Haseeb, Akira Aldeakira, and Hamza Seddek.
Reflecting on the event, Tasnim Ahsan said, "It was an honor to showcase our project to the QF community. This was a valuable opportunity to educate and empower students on tackling global issues such as education, health, water and sanitation, and human rights."
She added, "I am grateful to my professors and peers here at Texas A&M at Qatar, and for the many opportunities the university provides us to learn, and grow. It goes well beyond engineering, and empowers us to take on challenges to become better leaders."
