Elbashir gives invited lecture at natural gas workshop

Dr. Nimir Elbashir, professor of chemical and petroleum engineering and director of the TEES Gas and Fuels Research Center (GFRC), gave an invited talk and served as a panelist at The American Institute of Chemical Engineers' Natural Gas Utilization Workshop titled, "Overcoming Hurdles of Technology Innovation," 2 Nov. in Morgantown, West Virginia. In his talk, "Challenges in Natural Gas Monetization: Qatar Experience," Elbashir presented Qatar's successes in monetizing natural gas and highlighted the GFRC's research activities advancing natural gas processing technologies and leading unique collaborations between industry and academia. The workshop brought together industry, academia and government officials to discuss difficulties in downstream natural gas conversion and new technology implementation.
