Iyengar accepted to CIEP, receives QSTP scholarship
Published Sep 27, 2009Dr. Srinath Iyengar, postdoctoral research associate, has been accepted to and awarded a full scholarship to the 2009-2010 Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program.
"I consider that it is essential to promote academia and industrial interactions and the commercialization of research ideas," Iyengar said. "I keenly look forward to hone and apply my entrepreneurial skills to assess the viability of research projects at Texas A&M at Qatar and to transform them into successful commercial ventures." The CIEP is a nine-month, part-time program presented in Doha by Carnegie Mellon University in partnership with Qatar Science & Technology Park. It is aimed at managers seeking to create new technology-based business for their companies, or for entrepreneurs thinking of starting their own companies in Qatar. Iyengar is working with Dr. Eyad Masad, assistant dean for research and graduate studies at Texas A&M at Qatar. Iyengar is currently researching the application of polymeric stabilizers in pavement sub-grade stabilization for improving the long-term performance of the asphalt-based roads in Qatar.
