Senior chemical engineering students visit Qatar Chemical Company
Published Nov 23, 2009Dr. Nimir Elbashir, visiting assistant professor of chemical engineering, and students in his senior design class on 18 Nov. visited Mesaieed Industrial City to tour Qatar Chemical Company plants and view the production of polyethylene, 1-hexene, and normal alpha olefins. The focus of the trip was to provide senior chemical engineering students with a chance to look at different designs of mass transfer and separation units. Students spent the entire day in the plant and were invited to ask questions of Qatar Chemical Company engineers and staff.
