Texas A&M at Qatar hosts Liberal Arts International Conference

Texas A&M University at Qatar will host the second annual International Liberal Arts Conference 26-28 Jan. at Education City’s Hamad bin Khalifa University Student Center. The event, sponsored by Qatar Petroleum, is organized by the University’s Liberal Arts program in collaboration with The Initiative in Professional Ethics (TIPE) – an umbrella organization for all ethics-related activities at Texas A&M. The theme of this year’s conference ‘(Re) thinking Global Connectedness: Critical Perspectives on Globalization’ is geared toward providing critical insight on questions like what is globalization and how globalization it has impacted our daily lives? Keynote speakers include Dr. Philippa Levine, Mary Helen Thompson Centennial professor in the Humanities, University of Texas at Austin, US; Dr. Jamal Elias, Walter H.
