Texas A&M at Qatar's Society of Petroleum Engineers' student chapter has won the 2015 Outstanding Student Chapter Award. The award recognizes the chapter's work in industry engagement, operations and planning, community involvement, professional development and innovation.

Texas A&M University at Qatar's student chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has won the 2015 Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award for the Middle East Region. It was announced by the SPE President Helge Hove Haldorsen this week.

This award is the highest honor for a chapter. There are hundreds of chapters in the region and it is a remarkable achievement for Texas A&M Qatar's SPE student chapter to win.

The student chapter will travel to the United States in September to receive this prestigious award during the Student Awards Luncheon at SPE’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) in Houston.
